Mandy Rodger
Mandy's practice explores totality and builds on the premise that nothing stands by itself.
Her paintings are an improvisation. The marks, gestures and colours a response to and interpretation of what lies below on the canvas and the intrinsic relationship of each to the other. Gestural marks evoke a sense of transition and change.
Mandy seeks to paint in a liminal state stepping over the deliberative cognitive threshold so as to create a rhythmically intuitive, emergent mind-scape.
Formerly a lawyer, Mandy has been studying at Browne School of Art. Her art practice is from the collaborative space which is Studio 6. Mandy is also a double finalist in the 2019 National Contemporary Art Awards.
